How to Edit a Home's Details and Green Assets
Update a home's facts and Green Assets in the Home Energy Assessment, then save or save and generate the energy report.
Before you start
Open the home you want to update. You reach a home from the Homes tab in the left sidebar, then click the address. This applies to inspector and staff accounts.
Steps
- Open the home. From the left sidebar, click Homes, then click the address you want to correct. The home record opens on the Reports tab.
- Open the assessment. Click the Energy Assessment button. A modal titled Home Energy Assessment opens (see screenshot).
- Pick the section to edit. Use the tabs across the modal to jump to the area you want to change: Home, Solar System, HVAC, Water Features, Interior, Garage, or Preferences. For example, click Solar System to correct the system details, or Home to update the home's primary facts.
- Make your edits. Update the fields in each tab. Move between tabs as needed so every section reflects the home.
- Save your work. Click Save Assessment to save your changes. You will see the toast Home Updated / Home energy assessment has been updated successfully.

Tip: If you want the energy report at the same time, click Save and Generate Report instead. This saves your edits and generates the Home Energy Report in one step, and you will see Assessment saved and energy report generated successfully!
Common mistakes
- Editing only one tab and saving too early. Check every relevant section (Home, Solar System, HVAC, and the rest) before you save, so the record and any generated report are complete.
- Clicking Save and Generate Report before all fields are updated. Generate the report only after every section reflects the home, otherwise the report repeats stale data.
