Cory's session for home inspectors at the Florida Association of Building Inspectors summer event in Orlando.
The core of it: most inspectors either skip the solar or write a disclaimer, and both leave the client without an answer. The training walks what you can actually assess on a standard inspection, what wears out versus what lasts, how the roof and the array interact, and where the line sits between an inspection observation and a call for a specialist.
The second half covers turning that into a service line rather than a favor at the end of a long day, including how solar reports fit into the work inspectors are already doing.
What you'll walk away with
- What you can assess on a solar system during a standard inspection
- Which components wear out and which ones do not
- Where the roof and the array create real inspection findings
- How to package solar as a service line instead of a disclaimer
