Navigating Solar Home Transactions with Confidence

A 3-hour agent CE class on solar in real estate transactions, taught at Briarwood Country Club in Sun City West.

Thu, Mar 19, 2026 · 3 hours · with Cory Vanderpool

Solar shows up in a transaction and suddenly nobody in the deal is certain who is responsible for what. This is the three hour continuing education class Cory teaches to fix that, approved for agent CE credit.

It starts with how a solar system actually works, in plain language, because most of the trouble in a solar transaction comes from people guessing. Panels have no moving parts and are closest to a plate glass window on the roof. The inverter is the part that behaves like a tire on a car: it does wear out, and it does get replaced. Those two ideas alone change how you talk to a buyer.

From there the class moves into ownership and contracts, what happens to an owned, financed, leased, or PPA system at transfer, why each one is a different conversation, and how solar is treated in valuation and appraisal. Cory closes on the agent's three jobs when there is solar on the roof: market it, disclose it, and guide the parties through it.

Bring your questions. Cory teaches this room live and the discussion usually goes where the agents take it.
