How to Generate a Home Energy Report from a Home

Add a home, complete the Home Energy Assessment, then save and generate the Home Energy Report you can download, view online, or share.

Before you start

  • The home must already exist in Sprk Pro. If it does not, add it first: Homes in the sidebar, then Add Home, search the address in Search your address, and Save.
  • Home Energy is the only report type you can generate yourself directly. Solar Inspection, Solar Listing, and Solar Appraisal are requested, not generated.

Steps

  1. Open the home. Go to Homes in the sidebar and click the home you want. The dashboard opens to the home's report cards, with Home Energy at the top.
  2. Open the assessment. On the Reports tab, find the Get Started Here card (Step 1) and click Energy Assessment. The Home Energy Assessment modal opens with the address at the top (see screenshot).
  3. Work through each section. Use the left-hand tabs in order: Home, Solar System, HVAC, Water Features, Interior, Garage, Preferences. Use Next to move forward.
  4. Check the auto-filled public data. Fields like Year Built, Square Feet (sqft), Building Type, and bedrooms/bathrooms may populate from public records. Confirm each one is accurate before moving on, and correct anything that is wrong.
  5. Save and generate. When every section is complete, click Save and Generate Report in the footer. You return to the home's report cards and see the toast "Assessment saved and energy report generated successfully!"

Tip: If you only want to save your progress without generating, click Save Assessment instead. You can generate later from the Generate Report card using Re-generate.

What happens next

The Home Energy card shows Completed with the generated date. In the Report Actions card you can now Download the PDF, View Online for the interactive web report, or click Share Report to send a copy to yourself, the customer, or push it to ISN.

Common mistakes

  • Skipping the public-data check. The auto-populated fields are a starting point, not verified truth. Review them so the report reflects the real home.
  • Looking for Download, View Online, or Share before generating. Those actions only enable after the report is generated.
