How to Add a Home in Sprk Pro
Add a property in Sprk Pro from the Homes list, or start from the Dashboard with the Add New Home quick action. Covers required address fields and saving.
Before you start
You need an inspector or staff Sprk Pro account. Have the property address ready. A customer email is optional, but if you add one it must be unique to that customer.
Steps
- Open Homes from the left sidebar. The Homes list loads with the heading "Manage the properties of your customers."
- Click the + button in the top-right of the filters bar (see screenshot). The New Home Form modal opens.
- Start typing the property address into Search your address. Pick the match from the Google autocomplete list. This fills Address 1, City, State, Zip, and Country for you, all of which are required.
- Enter the customer's First name, Last name, and Email if you have them. The email must be unique. You can leave these blank. Sprk does not send reports directly to your clients.
- Leave or set the Status field. It defaults to "New Lead" and is for your own internal tracking only.
- Click Save.
Tip: You can also start this from the Dashboard using the Add New Home quick action.
What happens next
The modal closes and your Homes list refreshes. There is no confirmation toast. The new home appears at the top of the list. Click it to open the home record at its Reports tab, where you can request a Solar Inspection or generate a Home Energy report.
Common mistakes
- Reusing an email that already belongs to another customer. The email must be unique, so the save will fail if it is a duplicate.
- Typing the address by hand instead of selecting it from the autocomplete list. Picking the suggestion is what fills the required address fields correctly.
